Among the top tourist destinations, my top choice is

50. Germany
Germany isn’t my favorite place to visit, but Neuschwanstein Castle is incredible.
Unfortunately,  Germany is set to be my last country on my list.

That said, I’ve been twice, and the second time was better than the first. When I travel, I really value interacting with locals and other people, and I found that more difficult for me to do here.

moreover, Germany has some handful history, and you can see everything from the Berlin Wall to Neuschwanstein Castle to be incredible.

49. United Kingdom
Traveling to places where English is there first  major language.
I normally rank countries that speak my native language, English, at the bottom  of the list. I do find them less adventurous — No challenge. That’s reason why the UK is second to last.

Still, I thoroughly do enjoy exploring the Christmas markets, the cute city  and major attractions such as Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

48. Canada
experiencing skiing in Canada.
Canada is known to be a beautiful country likewise outdoors lover’s paradise, with one of the best national parks  as Banff and the amazing winter sports in Whistler.

Aside Quebec and some handful of other provinces, English is the primary language. Very hard to decide a ranking for it, by that standard, it ended up more at the bottom  of my list.

Canada has always seen with great mixture of bustling cities and stunning nature. But it’s so very close to the US and has a  lot of similar topography in most regions, so it feels like low place for an adventure to me which I don’t really enjoy.

47. United States
Have lived in the US, so I find the United state   a little less exciting to travel around.

I do, however, love the fact that you can use months here and experience many landscapes, different people plus tribes, and different cuisines in many place in the country.

I’ve travelled to 48 states, and  I love California the most. It a place with healthy mixtures of cities, state natural parks, amazing epic scenery, and beautiful smooth beaches.

46. Bahrain
Bahrain is known to be a small country in the Middle East.
Bahrain is known to be  a quarter of the size of Rhode Island, which is known to be the smallest state in the US.

Unfortunately, these as limits the number of things you can  do. But I love to visit the Manama Souq and the Bahrain National Museum as much as I want.

They have delicious variety of  amazing Gulf food which is also a plus.

45. Senegal

these is an African top country full of renaissance monument
and the focus impressive African Renaissance Monument is in Dakar.
I could not  do more in Senegal.

From  my little  experience, though, I  love and enjoy taking a boat to the car-free Gorée Island in other to learn more about the amazing history of the transatlantic slave trade and visiting the gigantic African Renaissance Monument in Dakar.

I extremely love my hotel, Hotel Casa Mara Dakar. It was somewhat a kind of hub for nomad travelers from all over the world.

44. Honduras
Colorful market covered in umbrellas in Honduras
Honduras is home for several colorful markets.
I have to determine and the main reason why I ranked Honduras in the bottom 10 is because of the unlimited potholes that plague or i can say filled there roads and highways  all over  the country. Its notoriously rough roads very bad for movement of getting from one place to the other very stressful.

Aside from that, somehow the country is beautiful on its’ own.

My recommendation is visiting the Macaw Mountain Bird Park likewise Nature Reserve and the archeological ruins of Copán. Take a zipline tour across Pulhapanzak waterfall and explore Pico Bonito National Park were also highlights of my trip.

If you’re looking for better  places to stay, Hotel Marina Copán, Finca Las Glorias, and Angeli Gardens are the great options.

43. Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has really expanded its tourism industry in the past few years.
It’s been quite a while  since I visited Saudi Arabia, which is partially why i put it in the position.

I  visited 2008, and could not find much for a tourists to do. Nowadays, I’ve heard the country is now bustling with tourism, music festivals, unique desert and overwater stays, fashion boutiques, and adventure sports.

Plus, it’s ranked  was No. 41 on the Travel and Tourism Index now, so I know, economically, things have grown drastically  since 2019.

I’ must  to back to see if that changes my decision learn its like wonderland now.

42. China
2 girls sitting on the great wall of China with their arms around each other
I think I’d like to visit China more  often if I had a better grasp of one of the national languages.
Though I  sometimes love a challenge — and this goes against my  sentiments — I really struggle with the language and the food in China.

I’m a pescatarian, and I had  to find a lot of local cuisine to enjoy. Plus, outside Shanghai, hardly anyone all across speaks English, which wasn’t surprising. Still, because I wasn’t familiar with the language, I found it difficult to get around from place to place.

It was though  an adventure, to say the least. Moreover, only thing i found interesting include activities which include taking a food tour, visiting  to the Great Wall of China, and also seeing the mesmerizing Terracotta Army in Xi’an.

41. El Salvador
My trip to El Salvador yielded many benefits for me.
I’ve enjoyed visiting every country, so this is where it really started to get tough to rank them all.

My dad and I took a road trip around El Salvador, and the trip was really unforgettable.

Although we encountered many friendly locals, it was the cuisine that truly made an impression on me. I suggest trying the Salvadoran national dish, pupusas (thick flatbreads), tamales pisques, tamarind juice, horchata, sopa de pescado (seafood stew), nuegados de yuca (Salvadoran doughnuts), and quesadilla Salvadoreña (sweet cheesecake).

I particularly enjoyed the colorful slide at Picnic Steak House, the volcanic crater at El Boquerón National Park, and El Rosario Church.

My stay at the Cardedeu Hotel was enjoyable as well. The rooms featured breathtaking views of Lake Coatepeque and were constructed out of shipping containers.

40. Armenia Mount Arrat, which is visible from a city in Armenia I have only briefly visited Armenia.
I traveled from Georgia to Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, by car.

I recall that the country had breathtaking cathedrals and lovely landscapes, even though I didn’t stay there for many nights.

Without a doubt, I want to return and do more exploring.

39. Austria’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral
I had a great time touring Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Although I didn’t stay in Austria for very long, I recall Vienna as being incredibly beautiful and cultural.

I’m happy to have crossed St. Stephen’s Cathedral off my list of places to see in the world.

38. The sphinx of Egypt in front of the Giza pyramid complex
Egypt’s pyramids are a surreal sight to behold.
Egypt can be very hectic, especially for first-time visitors, which is my primary reason for placing it in the lower half of the list. During my trip, I went through a lot of culture shock.

However, it was amazing to see such historic and fascinating sites up close.

Make sure to arrive early at the Giza Pyramid Complex in Cairo so you can enter the pyramids. In addition, I suggest going on a Nile cruise, watching a belly-dancing show at a nearby eatery, and shopping at Khan el-Khalili market.

There are also many places outside Giza worth exploring, including Aswan, Luxor, Alexandria, and El Gouna.

37. A tropical beach along the Dominican Republic’s coastline
The Dominican Republic is where I would return.
The Dominican Republic is a fun destination for vacationers, much like many Caribbean islands. Families, groups of friends, or couples will love this place.

I rented my own boat, went on a four-wheel adventure through the jungle, took a catamaran tour, and enjoyed the stunning beaches while I was there.

36. Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay illuminated at night Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay is particularly beautiful at night.
I felt that my three nights in Singapore was sufficient to see everything I was interested in.

Overall, the nation’s order, cleanliness, and (for want of a better term) perfection captivated me.

I loved going to the Art Science Museum and Gardens by the Bay, and Marina Bay Sands was a lovely place to stay.

The Lau Pa Sat hawker center (which was featured in “Crazy Rich Asians”) and the cafés and stores on Haji Lane are worth exploring.

35. A rooftop in Tunisia with traditional tiles Tunisia
Tunisia has some stunning architecture. French/Shutterstock Travel
The nation of Tunisia is stunning.

I love cute coffee shops, so that’s one of the best things I remember about it.

My travels to Tunis, Hammamet, Kairouan, Sousse, and El Jem were some of the highlights.

34. The Republic of Tajikistan
The Panj River flows along the Pamir Highway Road between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
It was worthwhile to travel the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan.
I stayed in houses all over Tajikistan and had some interesting experiences.

Hiring a driver to travel the picturesque Pamir Highway was a highlight.

A significant portion of the drive shares a border with Afghanistan, and observing village life on the other side of the river was fascinating.

33. Kuwait
I’ve been to Kuwait a lot because my family is from there.
Since I’m originally from Kuwait and visit my family there annually, I might be biased, but I adore the nation. The fact that it didn’t even place in my top 25 indicates how challenging this ranking was.

Spending time with family is always my favorite part of a trip, but discovering all the new eateries, stores, museums, and pop-up events is my second favorite activity.

I understand that there aren’t as many tourist attractions in Kuwait as there are in some popular tourist destinations. I believe it’s best if a local can give you a tour if you’re considering going.

A must-see are the Kuwait Towers, Mubarakiya, and the old souk. Additionally, make sure to sample some delectable dishes like muhammar (a sweet rice dish), margoog (lamb stew), and hareesa (creamy soup).

32. Malaysia with a view of the ocean
In Malaysia, I had a great time.
With its cities, beaches, and jungles, Malaysia has much to offer.

31. In Delft, the Netherlands, bicycles are locked along a small bridge.
In the Netherlands, biking is highly recommended.
I adore the Netherlands’ bike culture. It’s entertaining to watch people riding bicycles during rush hour in Amsterdam, where it seems like everyone rides their bikes.

You can stay on a houseboat along Amsterdam’s lovely canals.

It was well worth the adventure to bike to the countryside to see the windmills and tulips, and the country has some of the best cheese in the world.

30. The Malta St. Peter Pool
In Malta, I spent a lot of time outdoors.
Malta is an island nation with a rich history.

I had a great time exploring Valletta, staying at the Domus Zamittello palazzo, diving into St. Peter’s Pool in Marsaxlokk, dining at Bahia, watching the sunset from Rabat and Sliema, and relaxing at Golden Beach and Ġnejna Bay.

29. Doha, Qatar’s vibrant market
Qatar didn’t seem to have much to offer travelers in 2018, but the country’s landscape changed when it hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

There is a lot to discover, and it is currently ranked No. 52 on the Index. I think it’s a really lovely place with a lot of Arab hospitality.

During my visits, I kept going back to The Pearl Island, Msheireb Downtown Doha, Katara Cultural Village, and Souq Waqif.

28. France
All throughout France, there are a ton of things to do.
Another nation with regions that serve a wide range of interests is France.

Visit the glitzy French Riviera for some of the most tranquil beaches, the quaint town of Annecy, known as the “Venice of the Alps,” the Loire Valley or Bordeaux for wine, or Courchevel in the French Alps for a delightful ski vacation.

Even though some may think the capital city is overrated or overdone, you can’t discount all the fantastic shopping, romantic walks, museums, monuments, and restaurants in Paris.

27. A view of the river flowing down Bern in Switzerland from above
I enjoy being outside, and Switzerland offers a lot of exciting things to do. Al-Hazza Latifah
Switzerland is ideal for any outdoor enthusiast and boasts breathtaking natural beauty.

Cities like Geneva are exceptionally clean, and the country boasts stunning views of lakes and mountains.

Zermatt, Interlaken, Zurich, Lake Lucerne, St. Moritz, Lugano, and Bern are a few of my favorite locations in the nation.

26. The United Arab Emirates
I’ve visited the UAE by myself, and each time I felt secure.
The UAE, in my opinion, is the ideal place for visitors to learn about Gulf Arab culture.

I frequently travel alone, and this was one of the safest places I’ve been. It also has all the amenities that a global city ought to have, such as a large number of museums (my favorite is the Museum of the Future), dining options, and entertainment.

Abu Dhabi boasts the best cultural attractions, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, while Dubai offers some of the best nightlife and shopping.

Ras Al-Khaimah is ideal for tourists seeking a desert experience, and Hatta is a hiking paradise.

25. Elephants in Kenya exploring the savanna in Amboseli National Park
In Kenya, I went on a safari.
Kenya is a great place to go if you want to go on an African safari.

This was where I had my first safari experience, and it will never be forgotten. We had close-up encounters with animals and witnessed stunning scenery. I had never experienced anything like it.

Additionally, I suggest visiting the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

24. Uzbekistan
In front of the Bibi Khanym Mosque complex in Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan played an important role in trade along the Silk Road.
My trip to Uzbekistan started in Tashkent.

I visited Chorsu Bazaar before visiting the Registan Square and Bibi Khanym Mosque in Samarkand. I ended my sightseeing trip in Bukhara, an important stop along the Silk Road.

This country is definitely in the top 25 and I can’t wait to go back. On my next visit, I would like to visit the archaeological site of Khiva.

23. Tanzania
Petting a turtle in Tanzania
I petted a giant turtle in Tanzania.
Tanzania will always have a special place in my heart because I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. It was great to be able to cross this famous attraction off my list.

I also went on a Serengeti safari with my dad. It was just as impressive as the one in Kenya.

Zanzibar was another highlight. I saw giant turtles on Prison Island and had an amazing snorkeling experience.

22. Mexico
In front of the government building in Mexico City
I’ve been to several regions in Mexico and would like to explore the country further.
I love how each region in Mexico is so different. Every time I go back, everything from the food to the scenery feels like a new experience.

My favorite regions include the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, the laid-back beach vibe of Sayulita in Baja California (especially Todos Santos and La Paz) and Riviera Nayarit, and the cenotes and jungles of Playa del Carmen.

I’m looking forward to visiting Oaxaca and San Miguel de Allende on my next trip.

21. India
Photo of the Varanasi Ghats as seen from the Ganges River in India.
Many Hindus make pilgrimages to Varanasi.
Mumbai and Delhi are must-visit destinations in India, but don’t underestimate the beauty of Jaipur.

The city is a riot of colour, bazaars and ornate architecture. I loved riding on the roads alongside elephants, horses and mopeds carrying groups of people.

Kerala is a tropical beach town where wildlife thrives, but Varanasi is my favourite place.

It’s unlike any other place I’ve been before. It’s a pilgrimage site for Hindus, where people go to die, heal and mourn.

20. Costa Rica
People swim in the natural pools at Fortuna, Costa Rica
Costa Rica is an exciting vacation destination.
Costa Rica is the ultimate destination for adventurers and nature lovers.

I’ve had wild experiences in nature, including whitewater rafting, jungle night hikes, camping, and ziplining.

The flora and fauna are also second to none – many parts of the country are lush and green.

19. Turkey
Millions of people talk about Turkey’s Hagia Sophia
I visited the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
I’ve been thinking about returning to Turkey to explore more of the country.

If this is your first time traveling outside of the United States and Western Europe, you might experience some culture shock. But if you want to experience all aspects of Middle Eastern culture, this is a great country to visit.

Istanbul is a vibrant city with delicious cuisine and amazing attractions like the Hagia Sophia. The city is half European and half Asian, which makes it perfect for walking.

Next time I want to visit Bodrum, the capital of the Turkish Riviera.

18. Nicaragua
In front of the Cathedral of León, Nicaragua, on a beautiful sunny day
The Cathedral of León is stunning.
Nicaragua is another country that is particularly close to my heart, as I spent a few weeks there making a documentary for my Master’s thesis.

Highlights include the capital, Managua, the beaches of San Juan del Sur, the colonial architecture of Granada, the Cathedral of León, and surfing the Cerro Negro volcano.

17. Iceland
Posing on a frozen beach in Iceland
Iceland is full of glaciers, fjords, and volcanoes.
I think Iceland has the most dramatic topography of any country I’ve visited. Seeing glaciers, fjords, and volcanoes up close isn’t something I get to do every day.

Some of my favorite places in the country are Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Akureyri, the Mývatn Natural Baths, Hallgrímskirkja Church, and sites along the Golden Circle.

16. Oman
A small town near the Nizva mountain range in Oman.
I don’t think enough people plan a trip to Oman.
Oman is an absolute highlight of the Persian Gulf. It is one of the most popular Arab countries I have visited and has such beautiful natural scenery.

In the capital, Muscat, you must visit the Royal Opera House, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the National Museum of Oman. Outside of the capital, the Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams mountain areas are amazing hiking destinations.

My favorite destinations include Wadi Shab, a canyon with clear water and perfect for swimming, and Wahiba Sands, the desert area of the country. Nizwa is also a fascinating ancient city, and Salalah is famous for its beaches.

15. Peru
Front of Machu Picchu, Peru
Machu Picchu is an amazing place.
Peru was the first South American country I visited and I was not disappointed.

I could have spent months wandering around, but in 10 days I made it to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Arequipa, and the Amazon.

The locals were very welcoming, the food was delicious, and the views were amazing.

I’d like to go back to visit Rainbow Mountain and spend a few more nights in the Amazon.

14. Thailand
I loved white water rafting in Thailand.
I loved Thailand. The only reason it’s not higher on the list is that I’m not a big fan of the capital, Bangkok.

Fortunately, the country offers something for nature lovers, city dwellers, water lovers, adventurers, and partygoers.

Chiang Mai is laid back, with beautiful temples, a great night market, and tons of outdoor activities like whitewater rafting. Phi Phi Island, Phuket, and Koh Samui are great for scuba diving and have a lively party scene.

13. Georgia
Georgia’s Caucasus Mountains
Georgia has a famous wine region.
Georgia surprised me—probably because I hadn’t heard much about it before my visit.

The country has different regions that you can visit depending on your interests.

I went to Tbilisi for city life, Mtskheta to visit the Jvari Monastery, Vardzia to visit the cave monastery, Svaneti to visit the Caucasus Mountains, Kazbegi to visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, and Sighnaghi to visit the historic winery.

12. Finland
Cabin under the Northern Lights on a Finnish winter night
Seeing the Northern Lights in Finland is a dream.
I love Finland – especially in winter.

I spent a few days in November exploring Helsinki, going on a food tour, stopping at the Hietalahden market hall, and enjoying a Finnish sauna in Löyly Helsinki.

Afterwards, I flew to Lapland, where I went dog sledding, sat by a campfire, and hibernated in a hammock at HaliPuu.

Most importantly, there is nothing better than…than admiring the beauty of the Northern Lights in Levin Iglut.

11. South Africa

Photographing at Lion’s Head Mountain in South Africa
The Lion’s Head hike was a highlight of the trip.
During my trip to South Africa, I only explored Cape Town. But I absolutely fell in love with the city. I’m looking forward to returning and seeing more of the country.

I discovered exciting things to do, such as shark cage diving and climbing Lion’s Head Mountain at sunset.

Foodies should go wine tasting in Stellenbosch, and animal lovers should check out the penguins at Boulders Beach. The cable car ride up Table Mountain is also a great spot for beautiful photos.

Other highlights include historic Robben Island and the beaches of Camps Bay.

10. Colombia
A woman walks down a street in Medellin, Colombia, past a building with colorful murals.
Medellin is a busy city in Colombia.
Colombia is sometimes known for being unsafe, but I’ve been there twice and had no problems. In fact, it’s one of my top 10 favorite countries.

My favorite places in the country are the bustling city of Medellin and Cartagena, which is a smaller city but has a lot of character.

In Guatape, there’s a huge granite rock to climb. It’s quite famous and worth seeing.

9. Ecuador
Rock formations in the sea near the Galapagos Islands
I loved visiting the Galapagos Islands.
Ecuador combines cities with nature.

A lot of people go out to the country to climb Cotopaxi, but I’ve been there twice because I’m fascinated by the Galapagos Islands.

On my second visit, I took a week-long cruise from Ecoventura that combined educational information with island exploration. It was fascinating to see the species and flora endemic to the archipelago thriving in the wild. 8. Indonesia The food was delicious, I felt safe, and there were endless activities.

Bali in particular offers a perfect balance of culture, nature, and modern conveniences.
7. Morocco
Blue stairs in Morocco sell fruit and other food products
Chefchaouen is full of blue buildings.

Morocco is a winner in my book of Arab countries. The train journey from Fez to Marrakech was one of my greatest adventures.

Chefchaouen (the Blue City), Essaouira, and the Sahara were all highlights of my trip to this African country.

6. Portugal
Douro Valley in Portugal
I mainly visited places in central and northern Portugal.
Portugal has a diverse landscape, culture, and atmosphere. I spent a few days exploring the tourist attractions in Lisbon before heading to Sintra, which was once the summer resort for kings.

I continued along the coast to Nazaré, a seaside town known for its huge waves, and Aveiro, which is famous for its canals. I then spent a few days in Porto before ending my trip with some wine tasting in the Douro Valley.

When I return, I want to explore the southern part of the country and the islands.
5. Vietnam
I spent a few nights on a houseboat in Vietnam.
Vietnam is one of my favorite Southeast Asian countries because there seems to be an endless amount of places to visit and things to do.

My favorite trip started in Ho Chi Minh City and continued to Hoi An to visit the famous night market and experience a basket boat ride.

Next I recommend heading to Hanoi. I explored the city and then spent a few nights on a houseboat in Halong Bay.

I would like to return to Vietnam to see the rice terraces in Sapa.
4. Greece
Posing on the white steps of Santorini, Greece

I went on a long trip to Greece.

I spent several months traveling from island to island between the Cyclades and Athens and enjoyed every minute.

I was welcomed by the locals, tasted the freshest seafood on the islands, and sunbathed on the beautiful beaches.

Some of my favorite Greek islands are Milos (for the local life and beauty), Mykonos (for the nightlife and shopping), and Santorini (for the sunsets and scenery). But Crete is the ultimate – this large island offers so much opportunity to explore.

3. Italy
Flowers blooming on a tree in front of a church in Taormina, Italy
Taormina is one of my favorite places in Italy.

I could spend years exploring the beauty of Italy.

Rome, Milan, and Venice are full of history, fashion-conscious people, and wonderful shopping. My favorite trip, however, is to the south of the country, along the Amalfi Coast from Naples.

Sicily is definitely one of my favorite destinations in the country. I love walking the charming streets of Taormina, taking the ferry to the Aeolian island of Salina, and staying a few nights at the Principe Salina.

2. Cyprus
The Bridge of Love on the coast of Ayia Napa, Cyprus
Road trips around Cyprus are one of my favorite vacations.

I spent many wonderful summers in Cyprus as a child, and the island nation remains one of my favorite travel destinations.

I love road trips around the island. I start in Limassol, exploring the picturesque streets and strolling along the coast. I then continue to Paphos to visit archaeological sites before driving through the Troodos Mountains and stopping at beautiful vineyards along the way.

I usually spend at least a day in Nicosia – a capital divided between the Cypriot and Turkish governmental bodies. I then like to end in Ayia Napa for the beaches and nightlife.

1. Spain
When the weather is nice, people swim and hang out on the beaches of Mallorca
I highly recommend visiting Mallorca.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t hard for me to choose my favorite country – Spain has always been close to my heart.

Again, I may be biased. I lived there as a child and have studied abroad, but each time I returned, it was unforgettable.

No matter where you travel in this country, you can’t go wrong. Seville and Granada are great for history buffs, San Sebastian is a foodie’s paradise, and Madrid and Barcelona offer great shopping and nightlife.
Mallorca is my favorite Spanish island because of its amazing beaches, cultural festivals, and stunning scenery. Despite its popularity, it still has a relaxed vibe.
